Ford F-150 trucks 2015 - 2020
Ford F-250, F-350, F-450 Super Duty 2017 - 2022
Ford Raptor 2017 - 2020

The photo to the right shows one popular method of breaking into your 2015-2020 F150 and 2017 - 2022 F250/350/450 Super Duty truck or 2017-2020 Raptor.

The thief pry's into the door under the handle to get at the lock rods inside the door. Then, they force the rod to move and unlock the door!

It's fast, easy and quiet, making this a favorite among thieves. >

Another popular method is to "Punch" the lock straight into the door cavity or, grab the lock body with a channel lock pliers and twist it to break it loose. This is also very easy to do since the handle and lock holder are all made of plastic!

What's the solution?

Read on...

Thanks to Louis M. for the photo of his F-150 break-in!
This shows how the thief can get in and barely leave a mark!
Notice this is the passenger side handle, they can get in through this side too!

Back side of drivers side door handle is shown above.

< The photo to the left shows a Jimmi' Jammer® plate mounted to the back side of the drivers door handle.

The plate covers the back of the lock cylinder, (toward the left of the photo,) reinforcing the plastic holding the lock in place and blocking access to the lock rods inside the door. (Lock rods are not shown here for clarity.)

The left end of the plate uses the factory mounting bolt to anchor the left end, increasing the strength of the assembly.

Mounting the plate inside the door also helps prevent the thief from punching the door lock into the door cavity, another favorite way to break in to your truck.

But wait, there's more!

The drivers side door on these trucks is especially vulnerable.

The lock cylinder is mounted in such a way that it is very easy to grab with a pliers and twist.

Since the lock is held in the door with an all plastic holder, it is easy to break the lock holder and open the door.

The photo to the right shows a lock that was grabbed and twisted, breaking the holder and allowing the door to be opened!

To combat this, we include our PunchPlug™ and LockCap™ products with each front door kit.

The PunchPlug™ is a steel disc that replaces the lock cylinder in the handle. By removing the lock cylinder, the thief has nothing to grab hold of, and with the Jimmi' Jammer® inside the door, the other lock rods inside the door are shielded.

The LockCap™ covers the hole in the handle where you put your key in to unlock the door.

The Jimmi' Jammer®, PunchPlug™ and LockCap™ work together to provide the best security available for your truck!

The photo below shows the PunchPlug™ in place on driver side handle

This photo shows the LockCap™ installed on the handle.

This Jimmi' Jammer® kit comes with the protection plates and both the PunchPlug™ and LockCap™ products.

If you are nervous about getting rid of the lock cylinder, read this from our FAQs page.

What about rear doors and doors that don't have a lock cylinder on them?

On rear doors of a four door truck, the plates are still necessary. The lock rods inside the doors still are accessible by a thief who knows how to get at them. Installing the rear plates will help prevent access to the latch and rods inside the door.

If your front passenger side door doesn't have a lock either, you still need a plate on that door too! By prying under the handle, the thief can get at the manual pull lock rod inside the door cavity, even though there is no lock cylinder.
